A man in his 60s and a teenage boy were critically injured Thursday evening in Mississauga after being struck by two vehicles.

Peel Regional Police say the incident occurred just before 5:30 p.m. on Millcreek Drive north of Erin Mills Parkway. A southbound white SUV hit the pedestrians as they tried to cross, throwing them into the path of a northbound Volkswagen and trapping the teen beneath the vehicle.

Both victims were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene and are cooperating with investigators.

Update – On November 21, police announced that the boy, who is 12, has died from his injuries. The man in his 60s, revealed to be the boy’s grandfather, remains in critical condition.
