A garage fire on Brian Avenue in London Monday afternoon caused extensive damage to the structure and the adjoining home. Flames and heat from the blaze melted siding on the house’s second floor, while smoke infiltrated the attic.
Neighbours helped alert the homeowners before firefighters arrived, ensuring no injuries occurred. Residents will not be able to return until the home is deemed safe. Fire crews noted significant smoke damage throughout the house and severe destruction to the garage and rear section.
District Chief Randy Evans praised both the community and new firefighter recruits for their response. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no damage estimate has been released.
