A two-vehicle crash involving an OPP cruiser on Highway 400 in Cookstown caused major traffic delays Tuesday morning.

The collision occurred around 9 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Highway 89, creating backups as far as Innisfil Beach Road. One lane was temporarily open along the shoulder while traffic moved slowly.

The officer involved was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Details about the other driver have not been released. Southbound lanes fully reopened shortly after 10 a.m., and the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
