A Brampton firefighter was taken to hospital after being hurt while responding to a house fire early Sunday during snowy conditions. Crews were dispatched around 2:54 a.m. to a home near Fernbrook Crescent and Kenpark Avenue.
Intense flames were pouring from the second floor when firefighters arrived. High heat initially prevented them from entering, and conditions worsened as the upper level began to collapse. One firefighter sustained a leg injury during the response.
The house appeared to be vacant, as crews noted there was no furniture inside.
