A fatal workplace incident at the Oro-Medonte landfill on Old Barrie Road is under investigation after a worker was struck by a vehicle Monday morning.
Emergency responders confirmed the worker died at the scene. A second person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The landfill has been closed to the public while the Ministry of Labour investigates. No additional information, including the victim’s identity, has been released.
