A barn at Perfect View Farm on Concession 7 in Brechin was heavily damaged in an early-morning fire Sunday, resulting in the loss of some livestock. The blaze was reported at 6:18 a.m., bringing firefighters from three local stations and a Rama tanker to the scene. About 40 firefighters worked to control the fire and maintain water supply using a tanker shuttle.
Ramara Infrastructure assisted by sanding icy roads for emergency vehicles and later providing a backhoe and operator for cleanup. The property owner sustained a hand injury and was treated in Orillia, while no other injuries occurred.
The fire’s cause is still being investigated, and damage to the barn and stored equipment is estimated at roughly $600,000.
