Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal crash on Highway 406 in St. Catharines late Wednesday night.

According to OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, a southbound vehicle carrying three people—ages 18, 19, and 20—lost control near the third line. The 19-year-old driver rolled the vehicle into a ditch. An 18-year-old passenger was ejected onto the roadway, where she was struck by another vehicle. She died at the scene.

The driver and the remaining passenger were treated for minor injuries. Road conditions were snowy and wet, and investigators are examining factors such as seatbelt use.
