South Simcoe police have charged a Kleinburg man who allegedly fled after crashing while impaired on Holland Street East in Bradford West Gwillimbury Monday night. Officers were called after reports of a driver swerving into oncoming traffic before striking a parked vehicle.
Surveillance footage from the area shows a grey Toyota RAV4 speeding down the street, braking moments before hitting a parked car and then driving away. Police later found the SUV on Holland Street West, arrested the driver, and reported discovering signs of drug use inside the vehicle.
The man is now facing charges that include careless driving, failing to remain at the scene, fleeing from police, and having cannabis readily accessible in the vehicle.
