A driver has been arrested after a high-speed collision with a snowplow on Limebank Road on Dec. 9. Police say the vehicle was travelling on the wrong side of the road when it struck the plow near Earl Armstrong Road around 10:50 p.m., while crews were preparing for an approaching storm.
The adult male driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where tests showed a blood alcohol level of 180 mg—more than twice the legal limit. Once medically cleared, he was arrested and charged with impaired operation.
The snowplow was able to drive away from the scene, while the car was towed. The roadway has since reopened.
