Two police officers were hospitalized Wednesday morning after their cruisers were struck while attending a crash on Highway 403 near the Highway 53 exit. Both officers were inside their vehicles at the time—one was assisting a motorist from the initial collision when a second officer was also hit by another vehicle.
The drivers involved have been charged with careless driving. OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk reminded motorists to slow down on snow- and ice-covered roads and to move over or reduce speed when approaching emergency vehicles with flashing lights. Snowfall warnings remain in effect across the London region.
