A 72-year-old man from Guelph has been charged following a collision Thursday night that police say was caused by impaired driving. Officers were called to Stevenson Street North near Emma Street after one vehicle rear-ended another, resulting in major damage to both cars.
Police observed signs of impairment from one of the drivers, and subsequent testing at the station confirmed his blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit.
He now faces charges of impaired and careless driving, along with a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
