A man remains in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Mississauga late Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Dixie and Rathburn roads. Peel Regional Police said officers were called to the area just before 4 p.m. following reports that an adult male pedestrian had been struck by a tow truck.
Police said the pedestrian was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition and is being stabilized. Peel paramedics confirmed they transported a man in his 50s to hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said the driver and the vehicle involved stayed at the scene. Rathburn Road is closed in both directions between Dixie Road and Bough Beeches Boulevard, and motorists are being advised to find alternate routes.
