A pedestrian was killed in a collision with a motor vehicle in Whitchurch-Stouffville on Monday evening. Ontario Provincial Police reported that around 8:30 p.m., a vehicle struck a 66-year-old man on Highway 48, between Bethesda Road and Norman Jones Place. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash led to a temporary closure of part of Highway 48 in both directions, but the road was reopened early Tuesday morning.
