A 23-year-old man has been charged by Waterloo Regional Police after evading a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) checkpoint and crashing into a house in Cambridge.

The incident occurred on Friday when officers were conducting the checkpoint near King Street and Fountain Street. The driver failed to stop and sped off, only to crash into a nearby home shortly after. The collision caused significant damage, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The man, from Kitchener, was arrested at the scene and is facing criminal charges and traffic-related offenses.
