A 58-year-old North Bay resident is facing multiple charges after a collision on December 23 at the intersection of Highway 11/17 and Algonquin Avenue.
Police say one of the drivers left the scene, but a witness recorded the vehicle’s licence plate. Officers later found the vehicle and driver and determined alcohol had been consumed. The driver was arrested and taken to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing.
The charges include impaired driving, no insurance, failing to remain at the scene, failing to report a collision, and running a red light. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on February 3. Police also issued a 90-day licence suspension and impounded the vehicle for seven days.
