Two people were injured and taken to hospital following a series of collisions on Highway 401 in Pickering Wednesday morning. Ontario Provincial Police say the crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. in the eastbound express lanes between Whites Road and Brock Road.
A two-vehicle collision involving a transport truck led to a second crash when the truck driver and a passenger exited the vehicle and were struck by another car. The driver was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Eastbound lanes of the highway reopened east of Whites Road shortly after 1 p.m.
