A pedestrian is in critical condition after a hit-and-run incident Friday evening in St. Catharines.
Police were called to the intersection of Pelham Road and Monck Street just before 6 p.m. after reports of a vehicle striking a man. He was transported to a hospital outside the region, where he remains in life-threatening condition.
Authorities say the driver involved later returned to the scene. A 20-year-old St. Catharines resident was arrested and charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision resulting in bodily harm. He has since been released and is expected to appear in court at a future date.
