A 45-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges after a single-vehicle crash early Saturday in Barrie’s southeast end. Police say the driver struck a light post on Mapleview Drive East near Stunden Lane and Country Lane.
Officers reported that the driver was not injured in the collision but was arrested and charged with impaired operation.
The incident comes as police services nationwide ramp up enforcement during the holiday season through Festive RIDE programs aimed at reducing impaired driving.
