Highway 6 near the Hamilton Airport reopened Monday night after being closed for nearly 12 hours due to a single-vehicle crash.
Ontario Provincial Police said a tractor-trailer left the roadway just before 10 a.m., struck a guardrail, and spilled about 150 litres of diesel fuel. The incident occurred at Highway 6 and Book Road, south of Highway 403.
Southbound lanes remained closed throughout the day while crews handled cleanup and police investigated. The road fully reopened around 9 p.m. No injuries were reported.
The closure disrupted traffic on a key southbound exit from Hamilton and an important route connecting Hamilton and Brantford.
