A man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Brampton on Thursday afternoon, Peel Regional Police report.
The collision occurred on Mississauga Road just north of Williams Parkway around 2:30 p.m. Police say the pedestrian sustained critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics, where he was later pronounced dead. His age has not been released, and next of kin are being notified.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. Evidence indicates the pedestrian was crossing mid-block when the collision occurred. Roads in the area were temporarily closed but are expected to reopen soon.
