Emergency crews responded to several highway incidents across southwestern Ontario on Wednesday evening, leading to multiple lane closures and travel warnings. Police urged motorists to avoid unnecessary travel as conditions deteriorated.

On Highway 401 near Graham Road in the West Lorne area, West Elgin Fire Department and Ontario Provincial Police attended a crash involving a tractor-trailer that ended up in a ditch. Eastbound lanes were shut down while crews worked to remove the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

A similar situation unfolded near Tilbury, where Elgin County OPP closed the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 at Queens Line to clear a jack-knifed tractor-trailer. Police confirmed there were no injuries in that incident either.

Meanwhile, eastbound lanes of Highway 402 between Kerwood Road and Centre Road in Strathroy were closed following a two-vehicle collision. Police have not yet confirmed whether anyone was injured and are advising drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
