A tractor-trailer driver was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash on the QEW in Hamilton Thursday afternoon, which left the truck partially on the South Service Road.
The collision occurred just before 3 p.m. in the Niagara-bound lanes near Centennial Parkway during snowy conditions. The truck struck two other vehicles before breaking through a fence. Ontario Provincial Police closed the two left lanes of the QEW to investigate. By 3:30 p.m., police confirmed the truck driver’s injuries were not life-threatening, and no other injuries were reported.
The other vehicles were expected to be cleared from the highway soon, but South Service Road remained closed for several hours while crews removed the tractor-trailer. Drivers in the area were warned to expect delays.
