A residential fire in Blenheim caused an estimated $500,000 in damage Friday morning, according to Chatham-Kent fire officials.

Fire crews from four stations were called to a home on Talbot Street East around 7:30 a.m. The blaze affected three units, but all occupants were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Victim Services is supporting residents who were displaced, including assistance with temporary housing. Police and fire personnel remain at the scene, and the Office of the Fire Marshal has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.

Update – A 42-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with arson. She will be held in custody pending a court appearance scheduled for Jan. 19.
