One person was treated in hospital for minor smoke inhalation after a late-night fire in the Weston and Sheppard area on Tuesday.

Emergency crews were called to Imogene Avenue around 11:30 p.m. following reports of a shed fire behind a semi-detached house. When firefighters arrived, the shed was fully involved, and the flames had already spread to the home. A ruptured gas line intensified the blaze, allowing it to feed on gas, and the fire extended into the shared attic space of the neighbouring semi-detached residence.

Firefighters brought the situation under control quickly. All occupants had evacuated the home on their own before crews arrived, and no additional injuries were reported.

Officials say the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
