A fatal two-vehicle crash south of Tottenham claimed the life of one driver and sent another to hospital Wednesday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police say the collision occurred around 10:20 a.m. on Highway 9 between Highway 50 and Tottenham Road. One motorist was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Const. Jesse Nobleman of the OPP’s Caledon detachment.

The second driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Highway 9 was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash but has since reopened.

Update – The deceased driver is identified to be a 21-year-old man from Peterborough.
