A serious head-on crash occurred Wednesday afternoon in Woolwich, sending five people to hospital. Emergency crews were called to Listowel Road near Steffler Road around 4:20 p.m. after a Dodge van and a Chevrolet pickup truck collided.
The 25-year-old driver of the van and one passenger were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries, while two other passengers were taken to a hospital outside the region with serious injuries. The 51-year-old driver of the pickup truck was also transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Listowel Road was closed for several hours during the police investigation but has since reopened. Police say the investigation is ongoing and are asking witnesses or anyone with dash-camera footage to contact police.
