A chain-reaction crash on Line 86 escalated from a minor incident into a serious collision, sending two people to hospital. Waterloo Regional Police responded to the scene in Wellesley Township shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday.
Investigators say two passenger vehicles were involved in a minor crash and had pulled over. While they were stopped, two transport trucks collided on the same road, and one of the trucks struck the parked vehicles. A 25-year-old driver from the initial crash suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital outside the area. A 58-year-old truck driver was seriously hurt and also transported out of region.
The road was closed for several hours as police investigated. No information has been released on potential charges.
