Police have charged an 80-year-old Brampton driver following a collision with a tow truck operator last week.
The incident occurred on Saturday on Mayfield Road near Robertson Davis Drive in Caledon, where a tow truck was assisting a broken-down vehicle. Officers were on the scene and had blocked a live traffic lane when the passing vehicle struck the arm of the tow truck driver.
The tow truck operator sustained minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle has been charged with careless driving and failing to slow down and proceed with caution near a tow truck.
Police emphasized the importance of exercising caution when passing emergency vehicles, including police, fire, ambulance, and tow trucks.
