A 23-year-old driver from Belle River is facing charges following a collision with a train in Essex County.
Ontario Provincial Police say the crash happened Tuesday around 7:03 p.m. at the Canadian Pacific Railway crossing on County Road 22, near County Road 42. Officers reported that the warning lights at the crossing were active at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported.
The roadway was temporarily closed while police responded, but it has since reopened. The driver was charged with careless driving and received a seven-day driver’s licence suspension.
