A fatal head-on crash in Pickering has left one man dead and a woman critically injured. Durham police say they were called to the intersection of Kingston and Merritton roads shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Investigators report that a westbound Toyota sedan crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a Subaru SUV. The 57-year-old driver of the Toyota was taken to hospital, where he later died from his injuries. A 67-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Subaru was rushed to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition. The Subaru’s 68-year-old driver sustained minor injuries.
Police say the investigation into the collision is ongoing.
