A 41-year-old man has died after a single-vehicle crash in Uxbridge Wednesday evening. Emergency crews were called to Regional Road 1, south of Foster Drive, at about 6:35 p.m.
Durham Regional Police say an SUV travelling north left the roadway, entered a snowbank, and struck a tree. Investigators believe the driver may have experienced a medical episode that led to the crash. The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene, and Regional Road 1 was closed between Foster Drive and Ashworth Road for several hours as evidence was collected. Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
