A fatal snowmobile collision claimed the life of a 61-year-old Kingston-area woman Thursday afternoon, Ontario Provincial Police reported.
Police say the snowmobile struck a pickup truck at about 3:15 p.m. on County Road 5, east of Newburgh Road in Loyalist Township. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the occupants of the truck were not injured.
Authorities noted that a snowmobile trail operated by the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs runs across County Road 5 nearby, though the exact point of impact has not been confirmed. The investigation remains ongoing.
