Emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle collision early Friday morning on Highway 400 in Barrie.

Ontario Provincial Police say the crash occurred in the northbound lanes between Essa Road and Dunlop Street and involved a dump truck and three passenger vehicles. Heavy tow trucks were brought in to clear the damaged vehicles from the roadway.

The affected section of the highway was briefly closed to allow cleanup operations and later reopened. Barrie police temporarily shut down an on-ramp shortly before 9 a.m. while crews finished clearing the scene.

Police have not confirmed whether anyone was injured, and further details have not yet been released.
