A fire destroyed a residence at Parker’s Point near Muskoka on Friday morning.

Gravenhurst Fire Service crews were dispatched around 8:30 a.m. and found the structure heavily involved upon arrival. Mutual aid was requested from two additional stations, bringing more than 20 firefighters to the scene. Water tanker trucks were used to supply crews as they battled the intense blaze.

Officials believe the fire had been burning for some time before it was reported. No one was inside the home at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Residents were asked to avoid the area for much of the morning while firefighters dealt with remaining hot spots. A damage estimate was not available, though officials said the property was a large secondary residence.
