Two drivers were killed in a head-on crash involving two vehicles near Renfrew on Saturday afternoon, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
Officers were called to Highway 17 between Anderson Road and McCallum Drive shortly after 1 p.m. for a collision involving a pickup truck and another passenger vehicle. Police say both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims have been identified as a 55-year-old man from Renfrew and a 71-year-old man from Ottawa.
The affected section of Highway 17 was closed for several hours during the investigation and reopened around 9 p.m. Police are asking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area at the time of the crash to contact OPP or provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
