A residential fire on Seawind Trail in Waterloo prompted a response from the Waterloo Fire Department and regional police on Monday morning.

Police said the blaze led to the closure of the road at both ends near Chesapeake Drive. No one was inside the home when the fire broke out, and nearby residences were evacuated while crews worked to extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported.

The City of Waterloo confirmed that Seawind Trail reopened to traffic after 3 p.m., though some fire crews remained on scene. Drivers are advised to expect delays as cleanup continues.
