Essa Township firefighters were called to a kitchen fire at a home on Auburn Street Wednesday around 1 p.m. Crews arrived to find flames contained to the kitchen, which police said were caused by a dishwasher catching fire.
Two residents safely evacuated after being alerted by functioning smoke alarms, and no injuries were reported. While the fire was considered minor, damage to the home is estimated at approximately $25,000.
