An elderly man was taken to hospital after his vehicle struck a retaining wall outside the Ottawa Hospital’s Riverside Campus on Thursday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the Riverside Drive campus, in the 1900 block, around 7:35 a.m. after reports of a vehicle hitting a structure in the parking lot. Hospital officials later confirmed the car collided with a retaining wall.
Ottawa police said a caller initially reported a vehicle driving into what appeared to be a retaining wall near the hospital. Paramedics treated the driver at the scene before transporting him to hospital in stable condition with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The Ottawa Hospital confirmed the incident will not affect operations at the Riverside Campus.
