A driver from Alberta is facing charges after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision in Kitchener.

Waterloo Regional Police say a vehicle struck a pedestrian on Weber Street East near Madison Avenue North shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday. The victim, a 33-year-old woman from Kitchener, was taken to an out-of-region hospital with injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.

Officers arrested the driver at the scene. Police have since charged a 32-year-old man from Alberta with dangerous operation causing bodily harm and operation causing bodily harm.
