London fire crews have wrapped up their response at the Salvation Army’s Centre of Hope after a reported structure fire Friday evening.
Fire and EMS teams were dispatched to the shelter at 281 Wellington St., where crews were sent to the sixth floor to conduct search and rescue operations and bring the fire under control. London Fire Department later confirmed the blaze was quickly extinguished.
All occupants who had been evacuated were permitted to return inside once the scene was deemed safe. No injuries were reported, and damage from the fire is estimated at about $5,000.
