Several people were taken to hospital after a serious collision in Barrie’s south end late Saturday night. Barrie police say emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of Veterans Drive and McKay Road West around 9:40 p.m. following reports of a head-on crash.

According to police, one male driver suffered minor injuries, while the other male driver was seriously hurt, though his injuries were not considered life-threatening. A female passenger in the second vehicle was also injured, with the extent of her injuries not immediately known.

All injured parties were transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre for treatment. The intersection remained closed for several hours during the investigation and cleanup, reopening around 3 a.m.
