A collision between a commercial truck and a passenger vehicle forced the closure of part of Highway 17 near Markstay-Warren on Feb. 10, keeping the roadway shut down for nearly five hours.
Emergency crews, including the Ontario Provincial Police, Hagar Paramedic Services, and the Markstay and Warren fire departments, responded to the scene. The commercial vehicle driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries and later released.
Police said the extended closure was necessary to allow for a full investigation and the safe removal of the damaged vehicles. Authorities have not provided further details about the cause of the crash or indicated whether any charges are being considered.
