Police in Windsor are investigating a late-night collision that critically injured a cyclist on Tecumseh Road East.
Officers were called to the 400 block shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday after reports of a crash. A preliminary investigation indicates a westbound vehicle struck a 28-year-old man riding a bicycle.
The cyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver stayed at the scene.
Westbound lanes of Tecumseh Road East were closed between Howard Avenue and Highland Avenue for several hours as the Windsor Police Service Traffic Reconstruction Unit examined the site. The road has since reopened.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant information or video footage to contact the Windsor Police Service Traffic Enforcement Unit.
