A collision between a school bus and a tractor-trailer north of Seaforth sent four people to hospital with minor injuries Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred shortly after 8 a.m. at the intersection of North Line and Summerhill Road. The bus had stopped at a stop sign and was turning left onto North Line when it was struck on the driver’s side by a northbound tractor-trailer, which subsequently ended up in a ditch. The impact spun the bus around.

Two high school students on board, along with both drivers, were hurt. Three individuals were transported to a local hospital, while one person was treated at the scene.

Investigators noted dense fog in the area at the time and said limited visibility may have been a contributing factor. They added the situation could have been more serious had the bus been carrying more passengers, as it was at the start of its route.

North Line was closed between Winthrop and Seaforth for several hours to allow for cleanup. The OPP continues to investigate the crash, and charges may still be laid.
