Police and emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 115 near Peterborough on Saturday morning.
According to Peterborough County OPP, officers were called around 8:50 a.m. to the southbound lanes of the highway between Porter Road and Boundary Road.
Investigators say the incident began as a single-vehicle collision. Due to poor visibility caused by heavy fog, several other vehicles then crashed into the original vehicle.
Four people were taken to hospital with minor injuries as a precaution.
The southbound lanes of Highway 115 in the area were closed while emergency crews worked at the scene. Police reminded drivers to use caution in low-visibility conditions by turning on full vehicle lights, reducing speed, and leaving extra distance between vehicles.
