A section of Highway 3 in Leamington was closed Monday morning following a serious three-vehicle collision, according to Essex County OPP.
Police reported the crash around 11 a.m., prompting road closures along Highway 3 between County Road 45 and Morse Sideroad, as well as between County Road 31 and County Road 18.
Officers say one person became trapped in a vehicle and had to be freed by emergency crews before being taken to hospital. Authorities have not confirmed how many other people were involved, but police say the remaining injuries appear to be minor.
The cause of the collision has not yet been determined and the investigation remains ongoing. At around 7 p.m., Police reported that the roadway had been reopened to traffic.
