An elderly woman suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a parking lot at the South Keys Shopping Centre in Ottawa.
Police say the collision happened around 3 p.m. Monday. Paramedics reported that the victim, an 83-year-old woman, was taken to a trauma centre in critical condition.
The Ottawa Police Service’s fatal collision investigation unit is now handling the case. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage and has not yet spoken with police to come forward.
Update – The woman has died from her injuries at the hospital.
