An off-duty Ontario Provincial Police officer in northwestern Ontario has been charged with careless driving causing death following a fatal collision in November.
The crash happened on Highway 61 at Hanna Road in Neebing. Police say the officer was operating a personal vehicle at the time and was not on duty.
The collision involved a motorcycle, and the rider, 58-year-old Poul-Erik Binderup of Oliver Paipoonge, was killed.
The officer is scheduled to appear in court in Thunder Bay on May 4.
