A school bus transporting 44 high school students caught fire Thursday morning in Caledon East, prompting a response from emergency crews.
Police say the incident was reported around 8:10 a.m. on Innis Lake Road. Officers responded to the scene along with Caledon Fire and Emergency Services.
All students and the bus driver were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
During the response, Innis Lake Road was closed between Old Church Road and Atchison Drive while crews worked to manage the situation and clear the area.
Officials say the fire is believed to have been caused by a mechanical issue and is not considered suspicious.
