OPP are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision in Cambridge that claimed the life of a passenger.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Maple Grove Road and Speedsville Road around 11:40 a.m. Police said the crash involved a white Hino truck and a silver Subaru hatchback.
The Subaru’s driver, an 81-year-old man from Guelph, was taken to a local hospital. His passenger, a 77-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Hino truck, a 50-year-old man from Kitchener, was not injured.
Maple Grove Road between Boxwood Drive and Speedsville Road was closed for several hours while investigators examined the scene and reopened shortly after 4:30 p.m. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to contact them.
